Can honestly say I wasn't expecting this. I don't know why I wasn't expecting it, but I wasn't. I feel like if Benz is going to make this, they will be going the way of BMW with the model redundancy.

I don't really have a problem with this, I just think it's unnecessary. I feel like this would go against the GLK, the GLA, the E Estate, and the C Estate. Not really the CLS Shooting Brake.

Looks like there are plans for an AMG model, but of course, no plans for it being brought over to the good ol' US of A.

What does Oppo think?

They fucking need to stop calling sedans coupes and wagons shooting brakes.

I don't know what I think of this. I'm a pretty big fan of the current CLA "coupe"(?) and of course the CLS Shooting Brake, but this just looks a little awkward to me. The rear hatch seems weird, maybe because of the plastic wrap, but who knows. I honestly don't know if I'd get this over a next gen or even current C Estate.

I came here to say the same thing. I love wagons as much as the next guy.

But this looks a little odd.

Maybe not for the US, but it makes sense for Europe. Wagons are way more popular than sedans (or CUVs) in this segment. More popular than hatchbacks even, sometimes. So an A-Class wagon/CLA 'shooting brake' (yeah right) isn't odd, it's logical. I predict that in certain markets, like my own, they'll sell more of these wagons than the CLA sedan and whatever small CUV they come up with combined.

In order to have better proportions for a wagon/ "shooting brake", they need to extend the rear overhang a bit

I like the front.

But that butt is HORRIBLE! God, someone put some clothes on that thing before it burns our eyes! Those tailights are so disproportional that even BMW X6 knows that thing is ugly.

As much as I love the new A class. that rear deck needs to be rethought. It's like they grabbed it at the license plate and just stretched it.

i think if they can straighten that out it could be a good addition.

This would work better as a Two Door.

That hatch looks like it is too small to be of use and look poorly designed and awkward. You would have a hard time doing hatch-y stuff like putting chainsaws and dead bodies in the back, narrow hatch = messy

Agreed. One of the biggest points of a hatch is usability, and it doesn't look all that useful to me.

Also: fender flares/stance/wider tires. Those quarter panels look like my Mom's Ford Taurus wagon from 1998... although, it was brown and manual...

She's always welcome here for being such a Jalop! I definitely see what you're saying. I would never buy one!

It's awful. A45 AMG hatch > this. Every day of the week.
